The US on Sunday voiced grief over the Ukrainians killed in Russia’s attack on the northeastern city of Sumy.
“The United States extends our deepest condolences to the victims of today’s horrifying Russian missile attack on Sumy,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on X.
“This is a tragic reminder of why President (Donald) Trump and his Administration are putting so much time and effort into trying to end this war and achieve durable peace,” he added.
At least 32 people were killed – including at least two children – and 99 others injured in the Russian ballistic missile attack, which struck as people were going to church for Palm Sunday.
