Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met French Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Minister Eric Lombard in Paris, focusing on deepening trade ties, reinforcing sanctions against Russia, and advancing Ukraine’s reconstruction.

In a post on X, Shmyhal said on Wednesday their talks covered “the development of bilateral trade, the tightening of sanctions against Russia and the reconstruction of Ukraine.”

“France’s continued support in financing infrastructure projects remains crucial for us,” he said, expressing gratitude to French institutions and companies for actively contributing to the rebuilding of Ukrainian cities.

“We look forward to the further implementation of joint initiatives aimed at the reconstruction and economic growth of Ukraine,” he added.

Lombard said France stands with Ukraine, and recalled French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou’s intention to renew the support fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
