Ukrainian delegation heads to Washington for defense, energy, and sanctions talks
Presidential aide Yermak says Kyiv aims to strengthen air defenses, boost energy resilience, and tighten sanctions pressure on Russia

ISTANBUL
A Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov departed for Washington for a series of high-level meetings focused on defense cooperation, energy security, and sanctions coordination, presidential office chief Andriy Yermak said on Monday.
Yermak said the visit’s agenda follows specific objectives set by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, including strengthening air defense and strike capabilities, bolstering energy resilience ahead of winter, and intensifying sanctions pressure on Russia.
“The ultimate goal remains unchanged: a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine through forcing Russia to end the war,” Yermak said on Telegram.
