Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Thursday said he met with US Charge d’Affaires ad interim to Ukraine Julie Davis to discuss deepening bilateral ties, including the creation of a free trade zone and encouraging American investment.

Shmyhal congratulated Davis on her appointment and thanked “all Americans, President Donald Trump, the US Congress, and the US Administration” for supporting Ukraine against Russian “aggression.”

“We have coordinated our joint steps to establish a free trade zone between Ukraine and the US,” he said, highlighting the role of American companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.

Shmyhal noted that Ukraine values the financial assistance provided by the US and is seeking broader engagement with American investors.

On Tuesday, Davis also met with Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff.
