Rustem Umerov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, on Saturday met with Reem Al-Hashimy, the United Arab Emirates minister of state for international cooperation, in the capital Kyiv to discuss cooperation on security, economic, and humanitarian issues.

Umerov said the two sides outlined a roadmap for further interaction, highlighting next January’s Ukraine Month in the UAE as an important platform to showcase the country’s potential.

“I expressed gratitude to the UAE for its consistent humanitarian support provided to Ukraine since 2022, as well as for its assistance in matters of prisoner exchanges and the return of our citizens,” Umerov said on X.

The Russia-Ukraine war began in February 2022.

He added that Ukraine remains open to partnerships with nations that share its vision of “stability, development, and security.”
