Ukraine’s president thanks his French counterpart for supporting peace plan
'This is how true partners should work,’ says Volodymyr Zelenskyy, praising Macron for constructive dialogue

ISTANBUL
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for supporting his goal of achieving a lasting peace in Ukraine after speaking to him by phone late Thursday.
“As always, our discussion with Emmanuel was constructive. Clear coordination of our positions, joint plans, and next steps. We thoroughly discussed our views on security guarantees—a just and lasting peace is our shared goal, and we are working toward it together. This is how true partners should work,” Zelenskyy said on X.
He also wrote that he discussed his meeting with Keith Kellogg, US President Donald Trump's special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, where he emphasized consistency in actions, as “a united position is key to bringing a just peace closer.”
“The future security architecture must be strong—so strong that Russia can never attack anyone again. And it is possible to guarantee this,” Zelenskyy wrote, thanking Macron for his advice and support.
