The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,196.13 points, down 1.54% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 9,310.65, lost 143.46 points from the close on Tuesday.
The lowest point for the index was 9,143.78, while the daily high was 9,330.64.
During the day, 83 indexes lost in value while 15 closed with gains.
The daily transaction volume reached 84.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.15 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.36 trillion liras ($212.8 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 39.5280 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 45.5060, and the British pound traded at 53.1940.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,384.90, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $73.95.
