Turkish stocks up at Tuesday's open

ANKARA

Turkey's benchmark stock index was up 0.59%, or 664.52 points to start Tuesday at 112,839.70 points.

On Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went up 0.9% to 112,175.19 points with a daily trading volume of 10.96 billion Turkish liras ($1.84 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9420 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, down from 5.9480 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.5960, versus 6.5990, and one British pound traded for 7.7080 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7050 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $66.52 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
