Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at opening session

ISTANBUL

Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.33%, or 404.72 points, on Monday to start the week at 121,879.47 points.

At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.39% at 121,474.75 points, with a daily trading volume of 10.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was unchanged at 5.8950 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, versus the last week's closing rate.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also stood at 6.5440, and one British pound traded for 7.6760 Turkish liras, versus 7.7080 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $65.60 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
