ANKARA

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 113,653.02 points on Thursday, up 0.16% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 113,514.17 points. As of the daily close, it earned 323.80 points from Wednesday's close of 113,329.22 points.

During Thursday's trading, the index hovered between 113,514.17 points and 114,534.75 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 774 billion Turkish liras ($130 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 8.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).

On the fourth transaction day of the week, 54 stocks on the index rose, 1 was down, and the remaining were flat compared to Wednesday.

The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, defense giant Aselsan and a leasing company Is Finans Kiralama.

Is Finans Kiralama was the best performer, with its shares up 12.54%, while a conglomerate Ihlas Holding shares dropped the most, down 5.56%.

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,504.40 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $67.66 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Thursday.
