ANKARA 

Turkey on Tuesday marked the 70th anniversary of the foundation of diplomatic relations with Venezuela.

“Happy to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations with #Venezuela,” Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.

“We will continue to advance our cooperation with the friendly nation of Venezuela in all fields to the mutual benefit of our peoples,” it added.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1950. Venezuela is one of the first countries that Turkey established diplomatic ties with in the Latin America and Caribbean region, according to the ministry’s website.
