World No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland was eliminated from the 2022 Wimbledon's third round after a shocking defeat against France's Alize Cornet.

Ranked 37th in singles, Cornet, 32, beat Swiatek with the sets of 6-4 and 6-2 at London's No. 1 Court.

Cornet also ended Swiatek's 37-match winning streak.

Swiatek, 21, is a two-time Grand Slam champion, winning the French Open (Roland Garros) in 2020 and 2022.

Cornet qualified for the Wimbledon fourth round, where she will take on Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic.
