DUBAI
The GITEX Global, one of the world’s leading tech, artificial intelligence (AI), and startup-focused event, began on Monday at the Dubai World Trade Center, with a spotlight on biotechnology, data centers, quantum computing, and more.
More than 6,800 companies from 180 countries will participate in the 45th edition of the event -- tech giants like Google, Huawei, IBM, and Microsoft will be present at the event, where over 40 unicorns, or startups valued at over $1 billion, will also take center stage.
Some 2,000 startups will attend the event and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, among other experts, will deliver speeches.
Some 80% of the participants are from outside of the United Arab Emirates, attaching great significance to diversity. Pavilions from many countries, including Türkiye, will present their offerings at the event.
The Turkish Industry and Technology Ministry and the Investment Office are participating at the GITEX Global for the first time with the joint pavilion, “Turcorn-Invest in Türkiye,” to strengthen the country’s innovative and tech-focused image on the global arena, while seeking opportunities for domestic startups, partnerships, and more.
Over 50 Turkish firms, operating in fields ranging from cybersecurity to fintech and from AI to robotics, will attend the event.
The GITEX Global event will conclude on Friday, Oct. 17.
