ANKARA

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has received an official invitation to attend the upcoming emergency Arab Summit in Cairo, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported Sunday evening.

The invitation was extended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, according to the report, though no further details were provided on their communication.

Last week, Egypt confirmed it will host the March 4 summit, with the primary focus on rebuilding Gaza without displacing its Palestinian inhabitants.
