Spanish member of European Parliament condemns 'Israeli attack' on Gaza-bound aid ship
European Union must act against this impunity of Israel, Miranda Paz says

BRUSSELS / ISTANBUL
A Spanish member of the European Parliament condemned on Friday an attack on a Gaza-bound aid ship in international waters off Malta.
“As member of the European Parliament and as member of the delegation of Palestine of the European Parliament, I condemn the attack to the international flotilla by Israel in international waters,” Ana Miranda Paz told Anadolu, blaming Israel for the attack.
“We cannot support this impunity, and the European Union must act against this impunity of Israel against a humanitarian flotilla,” she added.
The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the group that organized the mission, said the vessel with 16 people onboard was the target of drone strikes while on its way to Gaza early Friday.
The ship had been seeking to deliver aid to the Palestinian enclave, where aid groups warn people are struggling to survive following a two-month blockade by Israel.
