Authorities declared on Sunday a state of federal emergency in Orenburg as the natural disaster unfolded.

Emergency Situations Minister Aleksander Kurenkov arrived in the city of Orsk, which is currently inundated due to a nearby dam breach, to personally supervise the rescue operations.
