Manchester United announced Friday that they have reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical," the Red Devils said in a statement.

"Welcome home, @Cristiano," it said on Twitter.

Ronaldo is a five-time Champions League winner -- four with Real Madrid in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He first claimed this title with Manchester United in 2008.

He bagged the English Premier League title with Manchester United for three years in a row -- 2007, 2008, and 2009.

The 36-year-old won the Spanish La Liga twice with Real Madrid in 2012 and 2017.

In 2018, Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus, where he became the Italian champion twice in 2019 and 2020.

His nation has been cherishing Ronaldo, as he guided Portugal to win its first-ever major title, the UEFA EURO 2016.

Portugal claimed a 1-0 victory over hosts France in the 2016 final to be Europe's number one.

In his first spell for Manchester United, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 118 goals in 292 games from 2003 to 2009.
