Poll shows 75% of Poles oppose immigration into their country
Opposition to immigration in Poland comes regardless of age, education, or place of residence, according to new poll

WARSAW
Most Poles oppose immigration into Poland, according to an Opinia24 poll done for RMF FM published Wednesday.
The survey asked: “Are you personally for or against Poland accepting migrants?” Some 75% of respondents said no, while over half (51%) expressed a strong opposition to accepting migrants; 24% said they were "rather against."
A total of 25% of respondents were in favor of accepting migrants to Poland, but only 5% indicated that they "strongly" supported such an option. Some 5% had no opinion on the subject.
According to the survey, slightly more men than women opposed accepting migrants, 78% to 73%. Negative answers also prevailed in all age groups, regardless of education and place of residence.
For supporters of the ruling (centrist) Civic Coalition and the Razem Party (left), votes "for" and "against" were almost equal.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said recently that Warsaw would not implement the European Union’s migration pact if it involved Poland having to accept migrants relocated from other member states.
The EU’s Pact on Migration and Asylum includes measures such as a “solidarity framework” designed to spread the burden between member states in dealing with asylum seekers.
