HAKKARI, Turkey

Police seized 52.4 kilograms (115.5 pounds) of heroin in southeastern Turkey's Hakkari province on Thursday, according to officials.

Anti-drug police found heroin packages hidden inside the trunk of a truck stopped for snap checking in Yuksekova district, the provincial governorate said in a statement.

While the contraband was seized, driver of the truck was detained.
