Nearly 14,200 virus cases reported in Eurasia, C. Asia

KIEV, Ukraine 

Nearly 14,200 more coronavirus cases have been reported in five Eurasian and Central Asian countries, according to data released on Monday.

Ukraine

Recoveries in Ukraine increased by 2,753 to reach 244,197, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

The country also registered 9,832 new cases and 94 fatalities over the past 24 hours, raising the overall count to 545,689, including 9,697 deaths.

Some 1,100 patients were admitted to hospitals over the past day, the minister said.

Georgia

Georgia’s Prime Ministry announced that 3,230 more recoveries raised the total to 65,291.

The country’s case tally surged by 3,157 over the past day, reaching 82,876, while 30 more deaths moved the toll to 733.

Nearly 17,000 people are still under treatment and 735 of them are in critical condition.

Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s Health Ministry confirmed that 588 more people were diagnosed with the virus, taking the total number of cases to over 120,000.

The death toll in the country reached 1,945 as seven more people died over the past 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries rose to 109,944, with 301 additions.

The treatment of 9,162 COVID-19 patients, including 458 children, continues in the country.

More than 10,000 pneumonia patients are still under treatment.

Kyrgyzstan

According to the Health Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, 479 more people contracted the virus, bringing the total number of infections to 66,983.

The death toll rose to 1,203, while 439 more patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 57,760.

Uzbekistan

In a statement, Uzbekistan’s Health Ministry said the total number of coronavirus cases reached 70,243 as 141 more people contracted the virus.

The death toll in the country stands at 598.

At least 211 more people recovered from the virus in the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 67,526. The recovery rate in the country stands at 96%.

As many as 2,119 virus patients are being treated in the country.
