ANKARA

Golden State Warriors' superstar Stephen Curry will be out for three months due to broken left hand, the NBA's Western Conference franchise said Friday.

The Warriors said on their website that Curry, who underwent surgery in Los Angeles, is expected to fully recover in three months as the player suffered from a second metacarpal fracture.

Curry faced a shocking hand injury on Wednesday night during the Warriors' NBA game against the Phoenix Suns in San Francisco.

The American playmaker guard of Warriors was sandwiched between two Phoenix Suns players while he was driving to the rim.

The Warriors lost Wednesday's match against the Suns 121-110.

The 2015 and 2016 regular season MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the NBA, Curry has been one of the greatest shooters in the league, helping the Western Conference team win three NBA titles in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

A six-time NBA All-Star, Curry, 31, won gold medals in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and 2014 FIBA World Cup with the U.S. basketball team.

Warriors' recent blows

The Warriors, NBA's most loved/hated franchise since over the last five seasons, experienced major difficulties starting from last season's NBA Finals.

On June 10, Kevin Durant ruptured his achilles during the Game 5 of the NBA Finals, which is considered a major blow to their title chances.

Just three days after Game 5, Klay Thompson tore his ACL, costing Warriors lose NBA title to Raptors in six games, 4-2.

In the summer time, Warriors lost some core players in the squad, Kevin Durant left for Brooklyn Nets, Andre Igoudala went to Memphis Grizzlies, Shaun Livingston retired.

They lost to Los Angeles Clippers by 19 points in their home opener and to the Oklahoma City Thunder by 28 points, entered the new season without their two superstars Paul George (traded to Clippers) and Russell Westbrook (traded to Rockets).

They managed to win against New Orleans Pelicans who played without their three starters, but suffered an embarrassing loss to Phoenix Suns.

During the Suns game, Stephen Curry broke his hand.
