The pause in peace negotiations with Ukraine arose from Kyiv’s unwillingness to continue dialogue, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, while also warning against the possible delivery of US Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

Commenting on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s remarks about proposals for resolving the conflict, Peskov recalled the Istanbul meeting with the Ukrainian delegation.

“There was an exchange of documents here. Last time in Istanbul, proposals were formulated to create working groups to discuss all modalities in key areas. Now there’s a pause,” the Russian state-run Tass news agency reported, quoting him.

“The pause arose due to the Kyiv regime’s reluctance to continue this dialogue.”

Peskov also responded to statements from Washington regarding Tomahawk deliveries. “We’ve heard these statements. We’re analyzing them carefully. Our military specialists are closely monitoring this,” he said, adding that there is “no panacea that can change the situation on the front lines for the Kyiv regime.”
