Fenerbahce defeat city rivals Besiktas, Karsiyaka suffer first loss over weekend in top Turkish basketball league

ANKARA
Fenerbahce Beko cruised to victory over Besiktas Sompo Sigorta 84-80 in a hard-fought game to gain their sixth win of the season in ING Basketball Super Lig on Sunday.
Besiktas were up by 2 points at the half (38-36), but in the last quarter Fenerbahce came back by scoring 10 more points (32-22) to beat their opponent 84-80 in Ulker Sports Arena.
Ahmet Duverioglu and Konstantinos Sloukas were the top scorers for Fenerbahce with 17 points in victory.
For the losing side, James Michael McAdoo was the high scorer with 24 points.
In another match of Sunday action, reigning champions Anadolu Efes defeated Gaziantep 88-83 in an away match to get fourth consecutive victory in Turkish basketball league.
Pinar Karsiyaka undefeated no more
Basketball fans at the Akatlar Arena witnessed the surprising match of the week on Saturday.
Bahcesehir ended the leaders Pinar Karsiyaka's 6-game winning streak after beating them 72-70.
Bahcesehir gained their first victory this season while there are no unbeaten teams left on the table following Pinar Karsiyaka's loss.
