The Israeli army announced early Friday that it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen which triggered air raid sirens across parts of the country, including Tel Aviv.

In a statement, the military said early warning systems were activated due to the missile threat.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

Israeli media said that sirens were heard in the central region and around the capital, indicating the missile was likely a long-range ballistic type.

Yemen’s Houthi group has repeatedly launched missiles at Israel, claiming to support Palestinians amid ongoing hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

It resumed attacks after accusing Israel of violating a truce and intensifying its military campaign in Gaza, often targeting southern Israeli areas with drones and missiles.
