Israel claims it targeted ballistic missile production sites in Iran
US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, with Tehran retaliating with drone, missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets
JERUSALEM
The Israeli army said Saturday that it carried out airstrikes targeting ballistic missile production sites belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran, amid ongoing US-Israeli attacks on Iran since Feb. 28.
In a statement, the army said its air force carried out “a wide-scale strike sortie” in Tehran, targeting facilities used to produce ballistic missiles.
It claimed that among the sites hit was “a central IRGC compound utilized for the production and development of ballistic missile components.”
The statement added that the strikes also targeted “a compound belonging to the Defense Ministry responsible for producing missile fuel.”
The army further claimed that it struck several air defense systems belonging to the “Iranian regime” that were deployed across Tehran.
