Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi, 25, will be not available for Kosovo's next two EURO 2020 qualifier matches due to an ankle injury.

''Kosovo national striker Vedat Muriqi will not be able to play in the next two games against the Czech Republic on Nov. 14 in Plzen and against England on Nov. 17 in Pristina,'' said the Kosovo Football Association Tuesday.

''Despite the utmost efforts and the great desire of the player to help his teammates in these important matches, medical examinations and consultations with experts in this field in Switzerland have proved that his appearance is impossible to happen,'' it added.

His club Fenerbahce also confirmed Muriqi's ankle injury, adding he is not ready to play the two matches over the next four days for Kosovo's national team.

''Since his ankle being twisted in the league match over Kasimpasa, Muriqi is not fit to play two matches in four games for his nation," said Fenerbahce.

"He will receive treatment in our club, as his appearances with the national team would increase his risk of injury.''

Muriqi is a vital part of Kosovo, his nation's top goal scorer in the EURO 2020 qualifiers with four goals in six matches.
