Illegal Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian village in the northern West Bank on Friday, as army forces detained two people and three foreign activists.

A group of illegal settlers raided and attacked the Bedouin village of Ibziq, north of Tubas, and opened fire on residents, village chief Abdul Majid Khudairat said.

The village is “constantly subjected to escalating attacks and violations by settlers and army forces,” Khudairat told the news agency Wafa.

In the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained three foreign activists in the Abu Hammam community, which has been repeatedly targeted by settler attacks, local sources told Anadolu.

In the Hathroura Bedouin community, east of Jerusalem, Israeli forces rounded up two young Palestinians following attacks by illegal settlers on residents and shepherds, according to local sources.

Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,093 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, according to Palestinian figures.

In a landmark opinion in July last year, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
