The Grammy Award-winning group Gipsy Kings by Andre Reyes filmed a new music video at the ancient Temple of Apollo in Didim along the Turkish Riviera, one of antiquity’s most iconic landmarks.

Amid the Aegean temple’s mystical ambiance, the group delivered a performance blending Flamenco, Rumba, pop, and Latin rhythms in their signature style.

Speaking to Anadolu, the group’s founder Andre Reyes said: “Singing and filming a music video in such a unique venue as the Temple of Apollo was truly an enjoyable experience for us.”

Reyes said they have performed across a large swath of the globe, from Brazil to Japan, and announced that as part of their Türkiye tour, they will take the stage this September and October in the cities of Izmir, Bursa, Istanbul, Samsun, Ankara, Antalya, Mersin, and Gaziantep.  

'Every time we come to Türkiye, we feel at home'

Reyes stressed that the true source of their inspiration while performing is the energy of the people, saying: “It’s their love for our music… That’s what keeps us going every day. The moment we feel most alive is when we’re on stage. Every time we come to Türkiye, we feel at home, and that means a lot to us.”

Describing their music as passionate and “a blend of tradition and the future,” Reyes added: “It’s heartfelt. Our music speaks directly to the heart, no matter your age. Our family is our root – without them, what we play wouldn’t be authentic. If we have come this far, it’s because we’re a family that lives music in every aspect of life.”

Formed in 1978 by members of a nomadic community who fled Spain during the 1930s civil war and settled in southern France, the Gipsy Kings rose to global fame following the release of their self-titled album in 1987.

As their popularity grew, the group began adapting English-language songs into their unique style of Catalan Rumba, earning acclaim for renditions such as I've Got No Strings, Hotel California, and My Way.

The band has garnered five Grammy Award nominations and won numerous accolades, including with their albums Love and Liberte (1993) and Savor Flamenco (2013).
