Famed football stars celebrated the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on Friday.

"Ramadan Kareem to all the Muslims," Manchester United's French midfielder Paul Pogba said on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself taken at the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest site in Islam.

In the photo, Pogba was alongside friends and fellow Frenchman Kurt Zouma, who currently plays for the London club Chelsea.

Another French player, Real Madrid's Karim Benzema on social media wished a good Ramadan to everyone observing the month.

"Ramadan Mubarak to all my brothers and sisters," Liverpool's Senegalese forward Sadio Mane said on Instagram.

Manchester City's Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez also celebrated the month.

"Ramadan Mubarak to all my brothers and sisters. May Allah ease our fasting. Let's think and pray for all people in difficulty in this period. #Alhamdulillah," Mahrez said on his Twitter account.

Following Ramadan, Muslims will celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, the holiday that marks the end of the fasting month.
