BERLIN

An exhibition featuring the works of renowned Turkish-Armenian photographer Ara Guler opened in a Berlin gallery on Wednesday.

Opened at the Willy-Brandt-Haus building in the city, the exhibition showcases 14 foremost images captured by the legendary photographer.

Guler died on Oct. 17, 2018, at the age of 90. Throughout his life, he was a globally-recognized leading figure in creative photography in Turkey.

Held at the same building, the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards exhibition showcases an award-winning photo of Anadolu Agency photojournalist Mustafa Hassona.

Hassona was awarded third place at the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards for a photo series of Palestinians' Great Return protests at the Gaza border.

The award-winning image of a protester in Gaza gripping a Palestinian flag in one hand while swinging a slingshot with the other has been viewed around the world as an iconic image.
