EU: Unemployment hits 7.6% in October
Number of unemployed fell by 91,000 month-on-month in 27-member bloc in shadow of coronavirus, says Eurostat

ANKARA
The EU's unemployment rate hit 7.6% in October, the bloc's statistical office announced Wednesday.
Compared to September, the number of unemployed in the EU fell by 91,000, Eurostat said.
Yet the unemployment rate was up from 6.6% a year earlier, in October 2019, reflecting the continued economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unemployment in the EU rose annually by 2.1 million.
The youth unemployment rate in the EU in October was 17.5%, up from 17.4% the previous month.
In October youth unemployment rose by 404,000 in EU member states compared to the same month last year.
The unemployment rate for women was 8%, while for men it was 7.2%.
