Economists expect Türkiye to lower interest rates to 38%
Economists expect decline of 150 basis points for year's last monetary policy meeting
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's Central Bank is expected next week to lower interest rates by 150 basis points to 38%, according to an Anadolu survey on Monday.
The last monetary policy committee meeting of the year will be held this week on Thursday to announce the bank's decision on interest rates.
Thirty-eight economists surveyed forecast a decline in the interest rate at the meeting, ranging from 100 basis points to 200 basis points, with an average of 150 basis points.
At last month’s meeting, the policy rate was lowered by 100 basis points to 39.5%.
