ANKARA 

Jonas Vingegaard of Jumbo-Visma team on Sunday won 2022 Tour de France. 

Finishing stage 21, which was held in Paris, in 77th place, the Danish cyclist won the tour with a total time of 79 hours 33 minutes 20 seconds in the general classification.

He achieved his first career grand tour victory, after finishing the last year's tour at the second spot.

The champion of the last two events Tadej Pogacar from the UAE Emirates finished second with 79 hours 36 minutes 03 seconds, while British rider Geraint Thomas from Ineos Grenadiers finished third with a time of 79 hours 40 minutes 42 seconds.

Belgian Jasper Philipsen of Alpecin-Deceunink won the closing stage of the 109th Tour de France with 2 hours 58 minutes 32 seconds (with a bonus of 10 seconds).

Dutch cyclist Dylan Groenewegen of Team BikeExchange–Jayco placed second with 2 hours 58 minutes 32 seconds (with a bonus of 6 seconds) and Norwegian Alexander Kristoff of Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert Materiaux ranked third with 2 hours 58 minutes 32 seconds (with bonus 4 seconds) in the Paris stage. 

Established in 1903, the Tour de France is one of the major bike races alongside the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana.
