Death toll from Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon rises to 9
Dozens of others injured amid new wave of attacks on Tyre, according to official media

ANKARA
The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on the southern Lebanese city of Tyre has risen to nine on Saturday, with dozens more reported injured, according to Lebanon’s official news agency.
The agency reported that Israeli warplanes conducted multiple strikes overnight targeting Tyre, hitting several locations, including a building on Safi Al-Din Street and another on Al-Madrasa Al-Deeniyah Street.
A massive Israeli air campaign in Lebanon has been ongoing since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, an escalation in year-long cross-border warfare since the start of the Gaza war.
More than 3,100 people have been killed and over 13,800 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.
Israel launched a ground assault into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
