Coronavirus outbreak kills 1, sickens 8 in Gaza
Late Monday, authorities in Gaza Strip imposed 48-hour lockdown to mitigate virus outbreak
GAZA CITY, Palestine
Health authorities in the blockaded Gaza Strip on Wednesday registered one death and eight cases from the coronavirus pandemic.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said a 61-year-old Palestinian died from the virus, while eight people were infected, bringing the total number of cases in the enclave since Monday to 15.
On Monday, authorities in the enclave imposed a two-day lockdown as part of measures to stem the virus' spread.
Previous infections were reported from inside quarantine centers for arrivals to Gaza.
