Coronavirus claims more lives in Oman, Bahrain

ANKARA

Health authorities in Oman and Bahrain confirmed more fatalities due to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.


A statement by the Omani Health Ministry said 6 people had died from COVID-19, bringing the nationwide death toll to 114.


The statement said 745 additional infections were registered, pushing the figure to 25,269.


In Bahrain, the Health Ministry confirmed one fatality from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 47.


The Gulf state's tally now stands at 19,013 confirmed cases and 13,267 recoveries.


After emerging last December in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the virus has spread to at least 188 countries and regions.


There are more than 8.04 million confirmed infections globally and an excess of 437,100 deaths, with over 3.88 million recoveries.
