China's Xi hosts Chilean President Boric to enhance bilateral ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday met with Chilean President Gabriel Boric in Beijing, where the two leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas, China's Foreign Ministry stated.
The two leaders met during the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum.
“China and Chile are committed to setting an example for China-Latin America common development and for South-South cooperation, and jointly advancing the cause of peace and progress for humanity,” ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning wrote on X.
President Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with President Boric to deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas, strengthen multilateral coordination, and enhance the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership for the future.
President Boric stated that the bilateral cooperation has been advantageous for both nations. He emphasized that Chile is prepared to enhance its collaboration with China in areas such as trade, investment, and artificial intelligence, according to Xinhua News.
According to data released by China's General Administration of Customs, in 2023, the bilateral trade volume reached $62.55 billion.
