Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday that Beijing will support African countries' core interests and major concerns, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
Wang Yi made the remarks during his group meeting with envoys from over 50 African countries and representatives of the African Union in China’s capital Beijing.
“China will unswervingly make strengthening solidarity and cooperation with African countries a priority in China's diplomacy, continue to support each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns,” the foreign minister said.
He emphasized that strengthening solidarity and cooperation with Africa will continue to be a key focus of China's diplomacy, highlighting that China-Africa relations have been upgraded to a strategic partnership.
