China launches remote sensing satellite

ISTANBUL

China on Monday successfully launched a new remote sensing satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site located in the southern province of Hainan.

The Yaogan-46 satellite was launched at 11.47 am (0347GMT) aboard China’s homegrown Long March-7 carrier rocket and entered its planned orbit, according to state-run Xinhua News.

This satellite will be primarily utilized in disaster prevention and relief, land resource surveys, hydrology, meteorology, and other related fields.

This was the 605th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
