Chile's former president Sebastian Pinera died in a helicopter crash on Tuesday, local news outlet La Tercera reported.

Sources quoted by the newspaper said four people were traveling on the helicopter when it crashed in the southern town of Lago Ranco.

The 74-year-old served as the president of the country from 2010 to 2014, and again from 2018 to 2022.
