A British F-35 stealth fighter jet made an emergency landing Sunday at Kagoshima Airport in southwestern Japan due to a "malfunction," local media reported.
The emergency landing led to the closure of the runway for 20 minutes, affecting some departures and arrivals of commercial flights at the airport, the Tokyo-based Kyodo News reported, citing the airport officials.
No injuries were reported.
