ANKARA

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,531.16 points on Friday, up 0.59% or 8.92 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index hit an all-time high on Thursday, closing the day at 1,522.24 points, with a daily trading volume of 34 billion Turkish liras ($4.62 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.3300 from 7.3400 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT).

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was also down to 8.9900 from 9.0150, while one British pound traded for 9.9500 on Friday versus 10.0050 at Thursday's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $54.83 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
