One more Hezbollah member was killed in border clashes with the Israeli army, the Lebanese group said on Sunday.

This brought the death toll of the Hezbollah members since Oct. 8 to 263.

A statement by the Lebanese group identified the fighter as Ismail Ali Al-Zein from the town of Qabrikha in southern Lebanon, without providing further details about the circumstances of his death.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes targeting several areas in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah announced the shelling of sites and gatherings of Israeli soldiers near the border.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed nearly 32,800 people following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.
