• Brazil football legend Pele, 82, is in stable condition after receiving treatment for a respiratory infection amid his cancer battle, according to a hospital report.

• Türkiye said it strongly condemns “summary executions” and recent escalation of violence and civilian casualties in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

• Baku has reached out to Iran for clarification about reports that Iranian citizens illegally entered Azerbaijani territory, according to the Foreign Ministry.

• Russia and Belarus signed an agreement on regional security.

• The Kremlin said that Russia “will not accept” the price cap imposed by the EU and G7 countries on its oil exports.

• President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Türkiye will complete the 30-kilometer (18.6-mile) deep security strip along its southern border.

• Chinese authorities announced an easing of coronavirus restrictions in several major cities starting Saturday, following public outrage and protests.

• The Netherlands defeated the US 3-1 to become the first team through to the World Cup quarterfinals.

• They will face Argentina who beat Australia 2-1.
