ANKARA
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality have provided six hydraulic garbage compactor trucks and 400 garbage containers to Garissa county in Kenya.
Six hydraulic garbage compactor trucks and 400 garbage containers were delivered to Kenyan officials under the "Solid Waste Project".
"Solid waste disposal is a big problem in developing African countries - there is a threat to public health because of this" TIKA said in a statement.
Turkey’s Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Idris Gulluce, Turkey’s Ambassador to Nairobi, Huseyin Avni Aksoy, Enver Arpa, head of TIKA's Middle East and Africa department and Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama Adam attended the ceremony.
