US and Israeli strikes targeted major steel facilities in Iran on Tuesday, including the Mobarakeh Steel Company in Isfahan and the Khuzestan Steel Company in Ahvaz, according to the Tasnim News Agency.

The strikes occurred at around 1930 GMT, with Iranian media describing them as aerial attacks on two of the country’s largest and most strategic steel producers.

US and Israeli warplanes carried out a second strike on the Mobarakeh facility later the same day, marking the second time it has been targeted in recent days, Tasnim news agency reported, citing local residents.

Emergency units were dispatched to the sites, the agency said, adding that further details are expected.

There was no immediate official information on the extent of the damage or possible casualties.

The latest strikes mark the second time the facilities have been targeted since March 27.

In the earlier attack, one person was killed and 15 others injured in Isfahan, Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported, citing provincial governor Mehdi Jamalinejad.
