US-Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple locations in Iran's capital Tehran, including Mehrabad International Airport and Shahid Beheshti University, Iranian state TV said Friday.
According to the state outlet, the strikes caused damage to Shahid Beheshti University in Velenjak, northwestern Tehran, while Mehrabad International Airport in western Tehran was also hit.
No immediate information was available on possible casualties or the extent of the damage.
On Telegram, the Iranian Red Crescent said that Israel targeted the plasma and laser institute at Shahid Beheshti University in northern Tehran.
The region has been on alert since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
