Israeli soldiers wounded in missile, drone incidents in southern Lebanon
Military says multiple troops injured in separate attacks and operational accident; all evacuated for treatment
ISTANBUL
Two Israeli soldiers were severely wounded Sunday afternoon when an anti-tank missile targeted them in southern Lebanon, the Israeli army said Monday.
In a separate incident, one soldier was severely wounded and two others sustained moderate injuries after a drone fell near them in the same area, the army said.
Another soldier was moderately injured in what the military described as an operational accident in southern Lebanon.
All wounded soldiers were evacuated to hospitals for treatment and their families notified, the army added.
Regional escalation has continued since Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
