Zeroual died after prolonged illness after serving from 1994 to 1999, sccording to presidency

ISTANBUL
Former Algerian President Liamine Zeroual has died at the age of 85, the Algerian presidency said Sunday.
A statement said Zeroual had been battling illness for some time and was receiving treatment at the Mohamed Seghir Nekkache Military Hospital.
He died at the hospital.
Zeroual served as president from 1994 to 1999.
