Strike hits Bandar Pol pier in Hormozgan province, reports Iran’s official news agency
ISTANBUL
At least five people were killed and four others injured in a US-Israeli attack targeting a pier in southern Iran, according to Iran’s official news agency IRNA on Sunday.
According to the new agency, the strike hit the Bandar Pol pier in Bandar Khamir County, located in Hormozgan province along the Persian Gulf, in the early hours of Sunday.
It added that two vessels and a vehicle sustained damage in the attack.
Regional escalations have continued to rage since Israel and the US launched an offensive against Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
